First Basics of Waste Water Treatment Module by South African Trainers in eThewkini
Two South African trainers, Sibongile Kunene and Mpilo Mgeyane (both from eThekwini Water and Sanitation) were selected to deliver the Basics Of Waste Water Treatment module on the 14th – 15th November 2019 at the Northern Wastewater treatment plant in Durban.
First delivery of Training of trainers in Cape Town
Twelve participants from the City of Cape Town received training in the Training of Trainers course from the 19th-20th November 2019. The training was delivered by Agnes Maenhout and Evelien Meijerink of World Water Academy (WWA) as part of the Orange Knowledge Programme.
The development of the first new modules within the OKP project in eThewkini
Trainers from The Netherlands visited the city of Durban from the 13th-15th of November 2019 to develop a course book and prepare presentations of two newly designed modules to be delivered in 2020. The first module of the Advanced Waste Water Treatment course is the Nutrient Removal and Sludge Treatment. The first module of the Basics of Drinking Water course is the Basics of Drinking Water Production.
